Outgoing, outspoken and wonderfully outlandish gay-rights advocates Sara Barger and Lisa Markuson, are launching Chicks-For-Gays, a fundraising lunch and happy hour event in response to the inflammatory statements and actions from Chick-Fil-A CEO and other public figures.

This Friday, Aug. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Science Club in Dupont Circle, guests can enjoy the fast-food company's now-notorious sandwich, except free from preservatives, meat and homophobia, along with the Club's delicious vegetarian lunch and happy hour menu. The Chicks-For-Gays meal special includes the veggie version of the sandwich, with fries and drink for $15 ($20 with an alcoholic drink). All profits from sales are benefitting the local LGBT DC Center.

In an effort to further increase awareness and funds for these groups, limited-issue t-shirts and undies will also be sold, with all profits added to the funds donated. In a nod to last week's kiss-ins in Chick-Fil-A's nationwide, an Instagram kissing booth will also be on-site.
