From young singles in the city to child-rearing couples in the suburbs, from restaurant foodies to concert fanatics, Washington boasts one of the nation's most diverse and vibrant LGBT communities - and it's a community ready for big business! To celebrate the inspiration and energy of the community, the Capital Area Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce is debuting g.life: One Day in DC, All Things LGBT.
On Saturday, November 17, 2012, thousands of LGBT people will come together at the Marriott Wardman Park to celebrate their community and discover businesses ready to meet their specific needs as LGBT consumers. Designed as a "neighborhood stroll through the metropolis" featuring local entertainers, personal demonstrations and skills workshops and much, much more, g.life is an exciting new way for you to involve your business and yourself in our community!
More than a expo, g.life will give vendors a unique opportunity to interact with potential new customers. Multiple options are available for vendors, from a single booth on g.life's bustling "boulevards" - including the clothing district, restaurant row, the furniture district, and many more - to sponsoring one of the themed "parks," all which can be outfitted, designed and tailored to any businesses specific needs.
CAGLCC is also announcing a call for speakers for the two educational tracks being offered throughout the day, the first covering professional development (from developing resources to improving supplier diversity) and the second focusing on personal development (from dating to planning for the future). Interested speakers and presenters can download the Request For Download a Request for Presentation application. Please click here.
The signature tone for g.life will be set by the on-street verisimilitude of vendors, corporate allies, performers, artists and others who will provide the vibrant atmosphere of LGBT life in the city. From music to spoken word to dance, artists and performers can find out more about joining the g.life experience by clicking here.
As the 2012 National Lesbian and Gay Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) "Chamber of the Year," CAGLCC is the Washington metropolitan area's voice for LGBT businesses and allies. With deep roots in the community and more than two decades of proven service and results, CAGLCC means business.
