The Community Needs Assessment survey is done! After much work from a team of dedicated professionals and service providers throughout DC there is now a tool that will be able to asses the needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community in DC.
As you read this I have hopes that you will take the survey right now if you live in the DC Metro area and identify yourself as D/HH/DB and GLBT.
Collecting this data will clarify the needs of the community and will allow for opportunities to create change where change is needed. This is a very exciting moment!
- The survey is for people who identify themselves as living in the DC Metro Area (MD,VA, DC) and who identify as D/HH/DB and GLBT.
- The survey takes about 15-25 minutes to complete (depending on whether you watch the questions in ASL or read the English).
- Getting this survey out to people of color and other marginalized D/HH/DB GLBT groups is imperative. Please use your networks and creativity to reach out to those in our community so they can be represented in this collection of data.
Please take a moment to email friends this blog, post a VLOG explaining why it's important to gather this information, paste the survey link on list serves, Facebook pages, or your organizations website, etc. We will greatly appreciate your support in gathering this information and improving the services the LGBT Deaf Community in DC.
