On Thursday November 29th, Brave Soul Collective (BSC) in conjunction with The DC Center will present, "FACING IT - Encounters of an Epidemic", an evening of theatre in honor of World AIDS Day 2012, which will focus on HIV/AIDS and the many ways that the epidemic continues to affect the lives of individuals, communities, and the world at large.
"FACING IT" which features all new, original works written by playwrights - Alan Sharpe, Jared Shamberger, Barbara Asare-Bediako, Thembi Duncan, & Monte J. Wolfe, will take place at the Thurgood Marshall Center, 1816 12th Street NW Washington, DC 20009, at 8pm, with a $10 suggested donation at the door.
This performance is presented to help educate members of the LGBTQ community about the importance of HIV prevention and treatment as well as to celebrate the lives of individuals living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Through a series of interconnected theatrical performances which address various topics such as religion & spirituality, stigma, disclosure, sex, dating, relationships, and much more, this show promises to entertain, inspire, & demonstrate just how far we've come and how much farther we've still got to go in fighting this epidemic.
