Center Global Discussion on Russian LGBT Equality Issues

gayrussia8213.pngCome hear more about an issue that has recently galvanized the LGBTQ community worldwide! In recent weeks the Russian government has stepped up its anti-LGBT activities including enactment of legislation and new government policies. In response to growing interest from local community to conduct protests and boycotts of Russian products, the Center Global program is sponsoring a public meeting on "Russian LGBT Equality Issues".

This event will outline the current situation in the country. and explore various options for effective responses from our community. Guest resource experts will include: Larry Poltavtsev of Spectrum Human Rights, Innokenty Grekov, Human Rights First, Mark Bromley of Council for Global Equality and Matthew Schaaf of Freedom House. All are invited to attend.

The event takes place on Thursday, August 8 at 7:00 PM at the DC Center for the LGBT Community at 1318 U Street, NW. RSVP on Facebook.
