This event is designed for group facilitators interested in refreshing/learning effective techniques to run groups at the DC Center for the LGBT community. This training will address how we can create spaces that encourage growth and facilitate emotional and psychological support. This discussion will address how group facilitators committed to social justice can make the meeting space safer. We will explore how our understanding of power, privilege, and oppression can challenge the way we have dialogues. The “Brave Space” model will also be discussed to inform the way we can create safer spaces and frame dialogues.
