Our ‘Taking the Stage, Taking a Stand: LGBTQ Voices Against Violence’ event series continues!! For this edition of Taking the Stage, Taking a Stand: LGBTQ Voices Against Violence, we are focusing on uplifting the voices and experiences of all of those in our community whom have felt like the target of LGBTQ related violence.
We are currently in search of artists who would like to perform at this event on December 18th. Our ‘Taking the Stage’ events focus on uplifting voices in the LGBTQ community through song, dance, poetry, rap, storytelling and other forms of artistry. If you, or someone you know is interested in performing a piece that expressess how you feel about targeted violence in our community, please email Sam Goodwin at samantha@thedccenter.org.
We are able to pay each performer a $65 honorarium for their contribution to this event, so please let us know if you are interested in being featured! Spaces are first come, first served, so please don’t hesitate to reach out soon!
