|Youth Pride Alliance|
Youth Pride Alliance is responsible for the annual production of Youth Pride Day. As a small, all-volunteer run organization, we rely on the support of the community for our programs and services. In addition to Youth Pride Day, we also organize other events for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Queer, and/or Questioning youth throughout the year.
The DC Center Youth Working Group is the central hub of information, events, and advocacy for LGBT Youth at the DC Center.
|Metro Teen AIDS|
Metro TeenAIDS is dedicated to eliminating HIV infection among young people in the Washington DC metropolitan area by offering programming that promotes mental, physical and spiritual health and provides the support and encouragement necessary to enhance their behavior and improve their self-efficacy.
The Mpoderate! program targets gay Latino youth as well as male to female transgender Latino youth. It is fully funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and aims to decrease the epidemic spread of HIV/AIDS within that population. The new site provides a safe space for the group members to participate in program activities and allows them space to freely express their sexual orientation and gender identities.
The Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (SMYAL) is the only Washington, DC metro area service organization solely dedicated to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.
LYFE (Leading Youth Forward Everyday) Mentors is an up-and-coming mentoring program for LGBTQ youth aged 13-21. The main purpose of this program is to positively impact the lives of young members of the gay community and enrich the lives of older community members through social interaction that takes place via mentoring. The program will be based in the DC Metro area and will serve youth that reside in that area.
