The District of Columbia celebrates LGBTQ issues in many ways, but we have a long way to go to ensure that th e youngest residents live in a community where they feel safe, respected, and connected. The Youth Working Group was formed in 2011 to ensure that local LGBTQ youth are guaranteed these things. Our core priorities are: safe shelter; freedom from bullying; affirming law, policies, and practices; and avenues to make youth voices heard on issues affecting their lives.

Anyone from the community is welcome to attend Youth Working Group meeting, generally the second Monday of every month from 6 to 7:30pm at The DC LGBT Center. Read our blog posts below to find out more about upcoming meetings.
