| |||||||
Thursday April 1st Seating is limited so use the link below to order your tickets now. Join Tom Goss at the DC Center on April 1st for a one-night-only performance celebrating Marriage Equality in the District of Columbia. Tom will launch his new Marriage Equality EP Politics of Love. Not only will you get a chance to hear Tom's album for the first time, but every audience member will receive a free copy of the Poltics of Love EP. Proceeds from the evening will support continued marriage equality in the District. Tom will also discuss his plans to use the new EP to educate communities across the country on marriage equality.
Following the success of his last album (2009’s Back To Love) and a music video (Till The End) that spent a month in the #1 spot on MTV’s LOGO, singer-songwriter Tom Goss breaks new ground this month with his EP, The Politics of Love. “I don’t usually write ‘political’ songs; I prefer more unifying themes like love, hope and redemption,” says the DC-based Goss. “But the past two years have been so politically turbulent, especially on the marriage equality front, that it was unavoidable. These songs had to come out.” Come out they did. The four songs on The Politics of Love challenge Sarah Palin and Joe Biden, DC Councilmember Marion Barry, and other opponents of same-sex marriage. From the pounding piano meditation on “Proposition 8,” to the soft assertions of “You Don’t Question Love,” the EP explores a range of emotions about a topic that is personal as well as political: Goss and his partner plan to marry in Washington later this fall. It’s an album, and story, the 28-year-old Wisconsin native could not have imagined when he moved to DC in 2004 to enroll in Catholic seminary. |
