Many issues preoccupy us in our daily life. We can feel overwhelmed, disconnected, chronically unhappy or just over perplexed by the stuff that needs to get done during the day? We can be plagued by the same problems and tried-and-true solutions that no longer work? Also, we can find it hard to have difficult conversations, communicate our needs and/or maintain boundaries? Or we can be haunted by past emotional pains big or small?

In a world full of judgment, you need to trust that your therapist is affirming and ready to hear your “deep, dark secrets” and respond in a way that makes you feel heard and not shamed or stigmatized.  It is only then that you can then talk about what’s going on in order to address your real concerns. The journey tends to be complicated, layered, and somewhat unpredictable. I focus on my client’s regaining control and strive to help them actualize their goals through a Person-Centered approach that is supportive, positive, unconditional helping environment.

As our lives evolve, we inevitably experience periods of sadness, depression, anxiety, loss, frustration and conflict that signal the need for better understanding and change. You and I can work together to help you develop an inner awakening and awareness of a healthier relationship with yourself, your life and others. The path is yours to take and I will walk with you during your journey.

Everyone needs help at some time in their lives and seeking help is a scary idea. But facing your problem(s) alongside a trained and experienced professional can provide a rewarding sense of relief. Your situation is unique as should be your therapy. I will work with you by not doing it for you. I believe my role is that of a guide who helps you view and reflect on the traits and barriers that have prevented you from feeling better about yourself while helping you navigate the path to building your best life.

Are you Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Ally, 2-Spirit, Heterosexual or Non-Binary? Are you is starting the coming out process and trying to determine if you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community? Are you someone who has experienced the recent coming out of someone who identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community? Are you looking for a therapist that truly understands and respects your feelings and experiences? Do you know you want an LGBTQIA+ therapist but don’t know how to find someone who is the best match for you? How do you navigate and choose among the many different psychotherapy and counseling approaches? These are but a few of the questions that may be swirling about in your mind.

I am both personally and professionally an out gay cis-gender male. I am a highly experienced mental health professional dedicated to meeting the behavioral needs of the diverse LGBTQIA+ Community and the Heterosexual Community.  I specialize in the LGBTQIA+ Community but serve all individuals.

It can feel so challenging to take your first step toward identifying the issues that are holding you back and finding new ways to address them.  If you have gotten this far into this section of my website, I want to congratulate you on the strength that you have – the strength of realizing that you may need some assistance in achieving the next step of overcoming that which is preventing you from achieving your best life.  The reaching out for help part can be even more difficult and bewildering to face with such a wide range of options to choose in terms of identifying a therapist. If you want, you can reach out to me on the website (www.ssop.lgbt) through the “Schedule Appointment” for a free Consultation Appointment which will allow you and I to look at what troubles you and includes agreeing to the frequency and fee for your sessions. I also recommend that you view the various pages on my website to learn more about my background, approach and specializations.
