Lloyd Raines 2019 2.jpeg

Lloyd Raines has been a seasoned practitioner in leadership development for over 30 years and a Master Certified Coach (ICF) since 2004. He works holistically with leaders, appreciating their unique style and capabilities, while bringing to awareness their blindsides and how to address them. He studies leader innovations globally and draws from them to support a leader’s flourishing and positive impact with others. Clients speak of Lloyd’s calm presence, refreshing curiosity, insightful observations, and focus on bringing about changes that serve strategic goals. Within the safety of relationships, he challenges leaders to do what they aspire to do and contribute with others the full wingspan of their collective capabilities.

While in the Army and in Vietnam, Lloyd was on the receiving end of many leadership styles—some effective, others not. He became interested in how people use power in positions of authority. Soon after his tour of duty, he began his undergrad and grad studies in psychology and justice for a deeper understanding of power and leadership. He became director of a non-profit working with juvenile offenders in Washington, DC. Then for two years he taught cops at the Metropolitan Police Training Academy as an adjunct instructor through American University. Shortly afterwards, he was tapped to be Director of the Washington Semester Justice Program at AU where he taught (for five years) honors students from across the country.  While there he learned through feedback from students more effective ways of using his own authority and power in service to learning and development.

He is a founding faculty member of Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching Program and the Institute for Transformational Leadership. He taught in that program until 2012. Also, for 10 years he taught adult students a unique course he designed on business and professional ethics through University of Maryland University College.

Over the span of his career, he has coached well over 1000 leaders from an internationally diverse group of business, government, and NGO organizations. He has travelled extensively in Asia and Europe, and a smattering of travel in the Middle East, South America, and Africa. In his private life he reads widely and enjoys the arts, writes on leadership, enjoys international travel with his wife and two artistic daughters, and is always open for a good, leisurely café conversation. He was spiritually mentored for 18 years by his venerable chocolate Lab.

Personally, I’ve always been a listening ear, counsel, and confidant. After years of doing great work, yet still unfulfilled, I chose to develop that which is innate within me, while still making a difference in someone’s life and the world. The path to becoming a life coach was an absolutely transformative experience, and I’m here to share that magic with my clients.

As a coach, I work with my clients to not only articulate and achieve their goals, but to excel and shine while doing so.  My clients and I mine their values to uncover what’s truly meaningful to them, and honor it. I help clients navigate career change, major life transitions like big moves and relationship ruptures, medical issues, business growth, stifled creativity, and even just living a stable, balanced life in this fucked up world where everything is questionable. I can coach my client on whatever they need in order to live their best life. I call this value-based living. In addition to value-based living, my practice also focuses on two niche areas: gender & sexuality and diversity & inclusion in the workplace, and I’m happy to share more about those if you think they are applicable to your or an acquaintance’s life or workplace.

She is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Jordan aims to get children genuinely excited about their dental care. Most importantly, she is patient with them and takes the time to get to know their specific needs. KITCHEN CABINET REFINISHING Save on the high cost of replacing your cabinets or refacing, by refinishing your existing cabinets with a commercial grade coating that will give them a new finish that looks and feels like new kitchen cabinets while increasing their value! Our kitchen cabinet grade lacquer meets or exceeds the required performance level established by KCMA for finishes (The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association). Any color can be matched from color by paint from Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, as well as any other paint company’s colors. We use only furniture grade coatings and not house paint as house paints decreases the value. We can also refresh the stain color and sheen to make your cabinets look newer. Optional service to fill drawer and door pull holes and install new pulls and paneled Doors modified for glass fronts. Hiring a kitchen cabinet re-finisher such as myself is an investment in your kitchen’s resale value when selling your home as kitchens can make or break a potential sale!

The future is bright. This is what we believe, without exception. What humans have achieved, even just over the last century, is mind-blowing. We have an unshakeable confidence in a future where people are better off than they ever have been. And we look at that future not as observers, but as participants, who are making it happen.

People come before technology. For some, the future may mean an obsession with cool gadgets and apps. For us, it means a commitment to bringing people together to do things we’ve never done before. In other words – yeah, we like technology, and that’s why we our developers, designers and marketers work together to build amazing things. But we love people, and they are always why we do what we do.

We can drive faster together. We’re passionate about using technology to help people achieve things they never thought possible. And since we know the future is awesome, we want to get there as fast as we can. We spend a lot of time looking into trends and technology and asking ourselves what we can do to get with the future. And we’ve learned that inviting colleagues, clients and friends to join us in dreaming, believing and doing gets us there a lot faster. (This is how we came up with Driver’s Ed)

Let’s get with the future. We are launching this Facebook Page to open up the learning we do inside of Social Driver and with our clients. We are moving private conversations about how ridiculously exciting the future is, and what we can do to get there faster, into the open where you can take part. If you believe, like we do, that the future is an awesome place where people will be able to achieve things they never thought possible, then jump on board so we can get there faster, together.
