 ing to you Jalwa: a platform for us to showcase our queerness in all its S
 outh Asian glory - from the lilting tunes of Pakeeza to the sensuous undul
 ating moves of our queer pioneering performers. Jalwa is an opportunity fo
 r you to bring out your best South Asian drag and your best moves.\n\nIn 1
 994\, our brave founders started KhushDC to celebrate queerness as an esse
 nce of our humanity\, and to champion the fact that we don't have to choos
 e between our South Asian and queer identities. They set the tone for us -
  from pakora parties and chutney Saturdays to chat n'chai and politics n'p
 aan. Help us continue this tradition by showcasing your teekha paan with a
  meetha twist of your queerness. Bring your dancing jooties if you're not 
 performing but come prepared to be inundated in the love that the communit
 y has for you and be impressed by the talent they embody.\n\nIf you would
