 identity with movement and storytelling centered around queerness. In a wo
 rld where brown queer bodies are oftentimes scrutinized for being too fem\
 , too dark\, and not belonging in this country and where brown queer voice
 s are shamed for having accents\, not understanding English idioms and eve
 n silenced from mainstream narratives\, Joteria showcases another world fi
 lled with beauty\, complexity\, and even fantasy.\nUsing art as a medium t
 o process real life\, Joteria explores the merging of two worlds that can 
 oftentimes feel at conflict. Through a series of both scripted and unscrip
 ted scenes\, Joteria wrestles with experiences of the brown queer communit
 y\, including homophobia\, xenophobia\, racism\, colorism\, machismo\, dom
