The Trans Support Group is intended to provide emotionally and physically safe space for trans* people and those who may be questioning their gender identity/expression to join together in community and learn from one another. We welcome all who identify under the trans* umbrella or are unsure, and seek to continually reinforce our principles of respect, acceptance and protection through ongoing input from our attendees.
We wish to stress the importance of a safe space where collectively, folks that identify along the trans spectrum or questioning may share stories and experiences. We appreciate the ongoing support of allies, but ask that due to the vulnerable and sensitive nature of Trans support group, and out of respect for its attendees, allies may reach out to more appropriate channels better suited toward ally support.
We have two Trans Discussion Group meetings each month on the second Tuesday and fourth Friday of the month starting at 7 pm.
We meet at The DC Center in the Reeves Municipal Building, 2000 14th St NW, Suite 105. Signs will be posted on the door for our group meeting.
Please note, you may be asked for a photo ID as you enter the Reeves Center. The Reeves Center staff have been trained and understand that photo ID’s may not match an individual’s gender expression. If this presents a challenge to you please call the DC Center as you arrive at (202) 682-2245 so that we can accommodate you.
