DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the Washington DC observance of the Transgen
 der Day of Remembrance. This event takes place November 20th from 5:30 PM 
 to 8:30 PM at the Metropolitan Community Church of Washington\, 474 Ridge 
 St. NW.\n\nNationally\, this is the 18th annual observance of the Transgen
 der Day of Remembrance\, which commemorates those who have been killed due
  to anti-transgender hatred. The 1998 murder of Rita Hester\, a Boston tra
 nsgender woman\, sparked the Remembering Our Dead web project and a San Fr
 ancisco candlelight vigil in 1999. Rita Hester's murder\, like most anti-t
 ransgender murder cases\, has yet to be solved.\n\nAccessibility: ASL inte
 rpretation will be provided. The MCC Church is a wheel-chair accessible sp
