On Saturday June 2, 2018, Center Latinx hosted Pedal.Pulse.Pride, a multi-city bike ride for Queer Trans Intersex Black Indigeno us People of Color (QTIBIPOC) and our loved ones! We rode to honor Pride and the Stonewall Riots led by our QTIBIPOC ancestors. We also commemorated the loved ones we lost at Pulse in Orlando 2016. On our ride, we heard from storytellers who shared about queer life in the District, including Anish Tailor of KhushDC who spoke about Gaurav Gopalan, a loved one we lost in DC in 2011. We ended our ride by joining BYP 100, HIPS, and others at a rally for the campaign to decriminalize sex work, where we heard from organizers of this powerful local movement and artists who shared their magic with us. It was a beautiful, affirming day and we’re excited for future rides. There were also bike rides that day in other cities like LA and Charlotte. Check out photos from our ride here!
