The Capital Area Rainbowlers Association (CARA) is a member-supported organization composed of gay and lesbian bowling leagues in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. CARA serves to promote the sport of bowling in the national capital area’s LGBT community.
Founded in 2006, DC Rollergirls is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-run non-profit. We are proud members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, the international governing body for women’s amateur flat track roller derby. WFTDA is composed of skater-owned and -operated leagues worldwide that have united to lead this growing sport.
Our non-profit league is run by skaters and dedicated volunteers, who contribute their free time and talents to manage the business side of the league — everything from organizing fundraising events to designing promotional materials. The DC Rollergirls also maintain a strong sense of pride in our community by partnering with local charities and participating in local events. Our league’s vision is to promote athleticism, diversity and roller derby, and foster self-worth, personal strength and female empowerment.
The women who make up the league come from all walks of life — they are engineers, architects, lawyers, teachers, nurses, writers, artists, librarians and work-at-home moms. They came to this sport as novice and experienced skaters, as seasoned athletes and as former couch potatoes. But they all have one thing in common — they are strong, fierce, competitive athletes who are passionate about roller derby.
The main mission of Lambda Divers is to provide a fun and inexpensive diving venue for GLBTT divers. With the power to arrange group travel with no intermediaries, Lambda Divers provides its members with not only a GLBTT family environment, but also the best dive pricing available. Organizing two to three dive trips a year from a “cheap and easy” long weekend to live-aboards, Lambda Divers brings you the best in GLBTT diving.
The Atlantic States Gay Rodeo Association (ASGRA) is a charitable and social organizatino whose primary purpose is to promote the sport of rodeo and foster country and western lifestyles in the gay and lesbian community. ASGRA members enjoy the fellowship of numerous social, recreational and educational activities. The organization’s primary event is the Mid-Atlantic rodeo and the organization raises money throughout the year to support community organizations
Stonewall Kickball is a kickball league for the LGBTcommunity and straight allies.
Dignity Washington is a community of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered Catholics and other Christians, their families and friends.
DC Stroked Rowing Club (DCSRC) is committed to bridging gaps between communities by building and inclusive environment, fostering personal growth and promoting the true spirit of sportsmanship. DCSRC programs offer opportunities for all rowers, regardless of experience level.
WDCGBL provides lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) basketball players and our friends opportunities to participate in sporting, recreational, social, and charitable activities that promote acceptance and visibility of the LGBT athletics community and create lasting relationships between people from all walks of life.

The Washington Renegades is a Division III rugby union football club, a member of the Potomac Rugby Union and USA Rugby. The Renegades provide a solid rugby and social experience for both seasoned players and newcomers to the sport. All are welcome to play for the Renegades.
