The Chesapeake and Potomac Softball League (CAPS) was founded in 1983 to establish a friendly place for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (G/L/B/T) people in the greater Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area to go to play softball, learn and/or enhance softball skills, and meet new people.

DC Front Runners is a running, walking and social club for gay people and friends in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Adventuring is a not-for-profit, non-membership, all-volunteer organization serving the gay and lesbian community in the Washington, DC area since 1980.
