Montrella is on a mission for underrepresented populations to have Prosperity,
Protection, and Peace. She is the CEO of Affinity Health Affairs and CowanLife, a
financial planning and risk advisory company with a special focus on empowering
minority and underrepresented populations with respect to the wealth gap,
including LGBTQ communities and Black communities.

Montrella has been helping the most vulnerable individuals and families for over 18
years as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and now a Licensed
Insurance Agent. Her clients truly appreciate her wisdom-from-experience. Not only
did her HIV-positive mother die in 2018, but, just four months later, she lost her
first-born daughter to Lupus. With her holistic approach, Montrella is committed to

George Mason University, Western New Mexico University, and others.
Montrella is a USA Today bestselling author and renowned thought leader whose
expertise has been featured in Inspired Living TV, The Washington Post, Essence
Magazine, Radio One, Fox, NPR, NBC, ABC, and dozens of other local, regional, and
national media outlets. As a keynote speaker, Montrella has shared the stage with
some of the greatest motivational speakers of all time to include Les Brown and Dr.
George Fraser.

Montrella earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies and social Work
from Catholic University of America and a master’s degree in social work from
Howard University. She also has a Nonprofit Management and Executive
Leadership Certificate from Georgetown University. She is a proud mother and a
member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

David is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Kalorama Wealth Strategies, LLC, a fee-only investment advisory and financial planning firm focused on the needs of members and allies of the DC Metro area gay and lesbian community.

With more than 15 years experience in the financial services industry, David is uniquely qualified to advise individuals regarding their investments and financial planning matters. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP)TM professional and a member of the Financial Planning Association and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, with membership in the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Washington, D.C.

Since 1999, David has been an adjunct professor in the Department of Finance and Real Estate in the Kogod School of Business Administration at the American University. Teaching assignments have included an under-graduate personal finance course, as well as graduate and under-graduate courses in real estate principles and investments.

David frequently volunteers for Metro DC GLBT non-profit organizations through Burgundy Crescent Volunteers, including One In Ten, Gay Men?s Chorus, Food and Friends, Mautner Project, Equality Maryland, and HRC. He also helps The DC Center?s Elder Think Tank with its GLBT Financial Education Series including retirement planning, insurance, real estate, and estate planning.

Erica Gloger provides sophisticated estate planning services to a wide range of individuals and couples living in the DC metropolitan area. She is a 2003 graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University, where she served as a research assistant to Professor Melanie B. Leslie in the area of estate planning for GLBT individuals and couples. Ms. Gloger contributes her time pro bono at several not-for profit organizations, including the Whitman Walker Clinic.

Lars Etzkorn speaks on Estate Planning, including having the Federal Government’s Office of Personal recognize same-sex common law marriage consummated before United States v. Windsor, and how Artists can deal with the challenges and opportunities of a large body of work. Lars also speaks on Planned Giving, Board Governance and Structure, and the Top Ten Questions to Prepare for a Good Death.

Lars’ legal practice focuses on estate planning and administration, charitable giving and nonprofit governance. He works with individuals, couples (married and unmarried) and families, and with local and national cultural, education and health organizations. Active in civic life, Lars was the founding Treasurer of The DC Center.

Mr. Marengo is a graduate of Ramapo College of New Jersey where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Metropolitan Studies with concentrations in Criminology and Substance Abuse. Mr. Marengo?s work in state politics brough him to DC where he worked on and off the hill. Shortly after the 2000 elections, Mr. Marengo began working for a wide range of non-profits and associations in the areas of data management and event planning/development.
