Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ, situated in the border between Northwest DC and Bethesda, is an open church, affirming the dignity and worth of every person as created in the image of God. GaySpirits is a day and a half retreat designed to explore the spiritual lives of gay men. Since many gay men are turned away by their spiritual traditions they often reject all religion. The GaySpirits weekend, in a non-threatening gay-positive setting, examines gay men’s self image, shame, and guilt.
The purpose of this ecumenical group is to provide the resources to facilitate a paradigm shift in multiple denominations whereby churches become welcoming and affirming of all congregants regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.

Luther Place Memorial Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, built in 1873 as a memorial to reconciliation after the Civil War.
