Event Type

In 2019, we honor the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn Riots in New York City which paved the way for the LGBTQ+ rights movement. Since then, our community has continued to work hard and fight for LGBTQ+ rights and equality. That is why for this year’s La Platica — a DC Latinx Pride Event, the Latino GLBT History Project has decided to highlight our Latinx LGBT+ artists who through their art preserves our community and influences social change.

The Latino GLBT History Project, and Carlos Rosario are partnering to create a platform to showcase local Latinx LGBTQ art. The work of artists from the DMV area will be featured in “La Plática: Elevando Arte, Poesía, & Palabra”, a group show on Tuesday June 4th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at HRC First Floor.

Art is a form of reclaiming identity, culture, expression, and we welcome the opportunity to share these stories with family, friends, youth and the community.
