Center Careers Job Club meets weekly at the DC Center on Wednesdays starting at 6:00 PM. We are located at 2000 14th St NW Suite 105. Please sign up below.
This 90 minute workshop covers all the basic aspects of writing stellar resumes that grab recruiters’ attention and leave them wanting to know more. We will discuss structuring your resume to match the type of work you’re seeking, formatting your layout to stand out to both computer algorithms and real people, and drafting content that highlights your achievements and potential. This workshop is suited for people of all professional backgrounds, in any industry, and with any level of experience. This workshop is designed to provide general frameworks, tools, and strategies for resume building, so unfortunately there will not be time for individual work on personal resumes. However, there will be several practice activities throughout the workshop that will allow you to apply class tools to your own background and experience. (We recommend that you bring your current resume or list of work experience, but it not required.)
The Job Club is a weekly job support program to help job entrants and seekers, including the long-term unemployed, improve self-confidence, motivation, resilience and productivity for effective job searches and networking — allowing participants to move away from being merely “applicants” toward being “candidates.” The focus is on developing strength-led strategies, techniques and goal plans, matching values and strengths and improving self-awareness as approaches to finding meaningful and satisfying employment.
