The Health Working Group is a volunteer-driven LGBT health outreach, education, and advocacy initiative of The DC Center.

Meetings are held every fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:30PM at The DC Center (2000 14th Street NW, Suite 105).

This month’s meeting will focus on substance use and the LGBTQ community.  We welcome discussion about substance use, substance abuse, prevention, harm reduction, smart recovery,  and twelve step recovery.   For the purpose of this meeting we will focus primarily on tobacco and alcohol use (though we can touch on other issues) focusing primarily LGBTQ youth and young adults.  We will be joined by members of the DC Center Youth Working Group.

We will be joined by William Perrotta from the This Free Life Campaign.  William will talk about tobacco use in the LGBTQ community and the campaign which focuses on preventing LGBTQ youth smoking.    We will also be joined by Allie Bobak from the Latin American Youth Center, which serves as the DC Department of Behavioral Health Prevention Center for Wards 1 and 2.
